To be able to perform, you MUST submit a video or recording of your talent no later than March 31, 2008 DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 7, 2008 (postmarked by this date, please) to Southwest Home Educators Association, along with a one page bio of ALL who are planning to perform. All music, lyrics, and acts must be approved and deemed appropriate by Disney. If you are doing a skit or standup comedy, we need the script. (you retain all rights - don't worry). The video is NOT an audition tape - anyone whose lyrics, content, and attire are Disney-appropriate are welcome to perform. Disney just wants to see it first and approve it. This is an AMATEUR talent show - no professional experience is necessary, just get out there and have fun! We welcome singers, musicians, dancers, stand-up comedians, acting (3-5 minute skits), juggling, pretty much ANY talent you want to flaunt in front of your homeschool friends to entertain them while they mack down a great buffet!!! We don't need professional photos, although you are welcome to submit them (afterall, Disney *is* going to be reviewing them...and you never know....)
The video should be on a CD or DVD, and can be in movie/video format, midi format, streaming, YouTube, or whatever - as long as it can be popped into a computer or DVD player and viewed quickly without complicated conversions.
Once we receive all of the videos, we will forward them to our representative at Disneyland. They will review the videos and bio’s and let us know if there are any problems that need to be addressed, and we will subsequently notify you to let you know. (You're homeschoolers, so the chances are very slim that you won't get approved, unless you intentionally strive for negative attention and send in a vulgar tape - I mean, come on! Disney has the final say.) Once approved, you will receive a list of official rules for the talent show - we will get these out to you as quickly as we get them from Disney.
