Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the questions most often asked in the past. If you don't find the answers you are looking for here, please visit our Discussion Board.
Do I have to pay for registration, or can I just buy tickets?
To receive the FANTASTIC deals on Park Hopper® Tickets, receive discounts on accommodations, or take part in any of the activities, you must have a valid conference registration. There are a variety of registration levels to choose from. Please visit our How to Register Page for more information.
Can I just purchase these tickets directly through Disneyland®;?
No. Our prices are based on a group rate, and the group must purchase all of our tickets under one order. We got an outstanding price for handling all of the class rosters, and guest passes for the theme parks. Disneyland® Resort does not sell Y.E.S. experience passes at the gate. They must be reserved either through a school or group ahead of time so that they can schedule qualified staff to teach the classes, and the class size is limited. We have reserved the classes for the two days and we will send them a class roster. You are welcome to purchase a Park Hopper® Tickets at the gate, but our price is significantly lower.
Must we attend the Y.E.S. classes to get in on this great deal?
No. You don't have to take classes to get the group rate.
Can my child attend a Y.E.S. class if they are older than the age listed?
Yes, absolutely. We are working closely with our coordinator at the theme park, and they understand the fact that our group is comprised of home educators who will want to combine age levels. They is more concerned with younger children being in a class where they might not understand the material, or they might not be able to go on some of the rides because of height restrictions. However, the attractions that are included in California Here I Come package are equally enjoyable for older children.
Can my child attend a Y.E.S. class if they are younger than the age listed?
They are being very understanding of the fact that home educators do not really classify their children into grade levels. They only ask that the parents read the class outline and determine if their child is mature enough to attend the three hour class. In addition, if your child does not meet the height requirements for the rides included in the chosen class, they will not be permitted on the ride, and will have to stand to the side while the rest of the class goes on the ride. The coordinators really put a lot of planning into these classes, so please read the outline. You can find links to the outlines on the Y.E.S. description page.
How do I know this conference is legitimate?
If you look on our ABOUT US page, you can find information about our committee. To verify we have booked Y.E.S. classes, call the YES staff the Disneyland® Resort: 1-800-854-8671 or 714-781-3417. All rooms are booked through Disney's® Passkey system, not through NBTSD. You will have access to this system as part of your reservation process. You can always ask past attendees too! Visit us on Facebook or visit our discussion boards.
Is this an official homeschooling day?
Only the Florida Disney® properties host an official homeschool days event. Disneyland® Resort in California does not endorse a "homeschooling day" for any group. They have worked well with us to make this field trip a success, even customizing some of their educational format for our group, and providing custom pricing that is not currently advertised anywhere else. We are authorized to use certain intellectual property through a signed contract. We can say that our event is *at* Disneyland® Resort, but we may not call it a Disney® event. This is open to all home educators. Any group that is claiming or insinuating their event to be an official Disneyland® event, could be liable to the Disneyland® Resort for damages.
